Fondemos
An independent think-tank and do-tank founded in 2017, dedicated to the defence of political freedom in the world.
How we act
Fondemos trains activists and strengthens the capacities of civic organisations committed to democracy in authoritarian contexts. More than 3,000 people have been supported through programmes covering movement strategy, operational security, communication and the fight against electoral fraud.
Fondemos advises and supports civic movements and organisations in their strategy, structuring and governance, with support adapted to the realities of each field and each context.
Fondemos produces and publishes analyses for democracy actors in authoritarian contexts, and advocates with European and international institutions so that organisations defending political freedom receive concrete institutional support.

Think-tank
Research and publications on the "How": democratisation (smooth transitions, radical changes), democratic life (institutions, governance, role of parties and civil society, transparency, justice, etc.).
Analyses, case studies and positions for those fighting for political freedom on the ground.
Do-tank
Accompanying and supporting citizen movements through strategic advice, demonstration, training in fundamental activist skills (mobilisation, non-violent action, public relations, security, fight against electoral fraud, etc.) and governance.

Emergency humanitarian action for oppressed and disaster-stricken populations.
Our philosophy of action
Audacity and optimism
Fondemos refutes all resignation, whether fed by fear and discouragement in the countries concerned, or by the comfortable conviction that the democratic ideal is not universal.
Prudence and professionalism
Fondemos rejects all adventurism. Regime change is not something to be improvised out of anger or opportunism. It requires a free social project that is not imposed by counterproductive interference.
